Digital wedding invitations

A digital wedding invitation is much more than a pretty card on a phone: it is your wedding's website. One single link where your guests find every detail and confirm their attendance — and where you see all the replies organised, without chasing anyone.

At Coconut Wedding we design every invitation from scratch — typography, colour, tone and structure — so it tells your story and works just as well on your grandmother's phone as on that of your best friend in Berlin.

What a digital wedding invitation is (and what it is not)

It is a personalised website, with its own address, that gathers everything that used to be scattered across the paper invitation, the WhatsApp group and the last-minute calls: date and venue, timings, directions, where to stay, dress code, gift registry and online RSVP.

It is not a PDF that gets lost in the chat, nor a generic template with your names pasted on top, nor an app your guests have to install. It opens in the browser, loads fast and is designed to be read on a phone — because that is where your guests will open it.

Does it replace paper? It can. Many couples use it as their only invitation; others combine both: paper for the formal save the date, website for all the logistics and the RSVP. Both work beautifully — and the website's QR code fits on any card.

What your invitation includes

Every project is designed to measure, but these are the pieces we usually work with:

Your story

A cover with your names, your date and the tone that sounds like you: classic, Mediterranean, editorial…

The day's details

Ceremony, cocktails and party with timings, addresses and built-in maps.

Full RSVP

Attendance, plus-ones, allergies and dietary needs, shuttle and favourite song in a one-minute form.

Transport and hotels

Shuttle times, parking and recommended hotels with your discount codes.

Dress code

The dress code explained with just the right tone, so nobody has doubts (or surprises).

Countdown

The days remaining, right on the cover: the detail that gets the most screenshots.

Gallery

Engagement photos before the wedding, big-day photos after: the website stays alive.

Guest dashboard

Every reply organised, filterable and exportable to Excel for your caterer, DJ or planner.

How your guests receive it

Through a link. Share it on WhatsApp, by email or with a QR code printed on paper — it works equally well in all three cases. No apps, no passwords, no sign-ups: tap the link and the invitation opens.

The RSVP form is designed to be answered in a minute from the sofa: attendance, plus-ones, allergies, shuttle and song. Every reply appears instantly in your dashboard.

International guests? The website can be shown in several languages and every guest reads it in their own. Guests from abroad especially appreciate the flights, hotels and transfers section.

Advantages over the paper invitation

We are not here to bury paper — we love it — but on the practical side there is no contest:

Replies that organise themselves

Paper cannot collect answers; the website can: attendance, diets and plus-ones land in a real-time dashboard, not in your WhatsApp.

Updates in an instant

Shuttle time changed? Edit it once and everyone sees the right version. With paper you would be reprinting (or praying).

Room to tell much more

Paper fits two paragraphs; the website fits maps, photos, hotels and every answer to the eternal question of what to wear.

Reaches everyone, instantly

No lost envelopes or late mail: the link crosses the world in a second — ideal when you have guests abroad.

Costs less (and wastes less)

A website for 150 guests costs less than printing and posting 150 envelopes — and produces no paper destined for a drawer.

How much a digital wedding invitation costs

Our plans range from €290 (the essential invitation with RSVP) to €890 (the full experience with several languages, an advanced dashboard and your own domain). The price is fixed: no surprises per guest or per reply.

For comparison: printing and posting 100 paper invitations costs around €400–700 — before counting the save the date, the reminders and the hours spent chasing replies.

Timings: when to order it and when to send it

Your invitation is ready in 7–10 working days from the moment we receive your content (texts, photos and the day's details), with two revision rounds included.

When should you send it? As a save the date, 8 to 12 months ahead if you have guests from abroad; as the full invitation with RSVP, 3 to 5 months ahead, with a reminder 6 weeks out for the stragglers. If your wedding is closer than that, write to us anyway: express timelines exist.

Where we work

We design invitations for weddings across Spain and Europe. These are the areas we work in most and whose logistics we know best:

Common questions about the service

Can we use the website alongside a paper invitation?

Yes — it is actually very common: paper or save the date with a QR code that leads to the website, where the logistics and the RSVP live.

Is the web address ours?

Depending on the plan: you can have your own address within our domain or your very own domain, such as emmaandjames.com.

How long does the website stay live?

Until after the wedding, including the post-wedding gallery if you add it. And if you want to keep it as a memento, that can be arranged.

What do you need from us to get started?

A short questionnaire, your favourite photos and the details of the day. The rest — design, supporting copy, maps and the form — is on us.

Request your proposal

Tell us your date, your venue and how you imagine the invitation: we reply with examples and pricing within one working day.
